"We are humbled to aid in the battle against Covid-19 by reassembling our factory to manufacture personal protective reusable masks, made from our deadstock fabric. We will be giving the masks free of charge with online orders. Masks will be available to purchase online and with each mask sold, we will donate a mask to key organizations in need."

During these uncharted times as humanity rallies against a common threat, no part of our lives has been left untouched. The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for many of our systems and institutions to be reengineered to serve society. It has also revealed society’s true heroes: all the essential workers we are all dependent on. At the individual level, there is much we can do to help. We should be staying home, assisting those who can’t help themselves, and caring for our elderly. It’s up to us to keep each other safe and out of harm’s way.
At Nonie, I have committed to a long-term strategy of developing and supplying the public with personal protective products, starting with cloth masks. While not medical grade, and not a guaranteed defence, masks can help slow the spread of germs by providing a physical barrier to nasal and saliva droplets. When worn in public, they can help to protect and keep people safe. Our design is simple and made from our very best quality cotton, which is tightly woven to create a strong barrier against particles. The masks are reusable and must be washed after every use. A small pouch on the inside can be used to house a filter. (At this time, we are unable to provide filters due to short supply and a strong need by first response personnel.)
Financially, many small businesses like ours have been hit hard and with so much uncertainty ahead, we’re staying optimistic while preparing for the worst. Many of my fellow designers are doing the same and there’s no shortage of great DIY masks online. With more of us creating, I think we can meet the tremendous public demand for this good. By choosing one of our masks, your money will go towards supporting our contractors, our team, and also our commitment to donate personal protective equipment to key organizations in need.
I am grateful for all of your support. If there is anything more I can help with, please reach out and I would love to hear your ideas. We are in this together, and we will emerge from this together, stronger.
With love and light,
